Introduction
Nuforiq (“Nuforiq,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information and supplier content in connection with the Nuforiq Supplier Portal and related supplier-facing services (collectively, the “Portal”). Nuforiq’s mission is Intelligence For Food Innovation—helping the food industry connect formulation, documentation, sourcing, and knowledge in one platform.
This policy applies to supplier users and organizations that register for or use the Portal. Other Nuforiq products, customer (tenant) workspaces, or websites may be covered by separate notices. If you use those services, please review the policies that apply there.
Information we collect
Account and profile information: When you register, we collect identifiers such as name, work email address, phone number (if provided), company or organization name, role, and credentials. We may collect approval status, verification timestamps, and security settings (such as multi-factor authentication configuration).
Supplier and company data: You may submit business information about your organization, including addresses, certifications, product and ingredient listings, technical attributes, commercial terms where applicable, and similar fields needed to operate the supplier experience and marketplace features.
Documents and uploads: You may upload files such as product specifications, certificates of analysis, allergen statements, safety data sheets, marketing materials, and other documents you choose to attach to listings or profiles. These files may contain personal data if individuals are named within them.
Usage and technical data: We collect log data, device and browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, pages or features accessed, and diagnostic information to secure the Portal, troubleshoot issues, and understand aggregate usage patterns.
Communications: If you contact support or exchange messages through Portal features, we process the content of those communications and related metadata.
How we use information
We use the information above to: provide, maintain, and improve the Portal; authenticate users; process registrations, approvals, and invitations; display supplier profiles and listings to authorized Nuforiq customers and users as permitted by your settings and platform rules; facilitate inquiries and collaboration workflows; detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with legal obligations; and communicate with you about service updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.
Artificial intelligence and knowledge systems: Nuforiq may use platform data—including supplier content and documents—to operate, improve, and personalize features such as search, matching, document understanding, and internal knowledge tools. We implement controls intended to separate customer-specific confidential workspaces from broader platform learning where architecturally appropriate. In general: (a) content you submit primarily supports your own supplier presence and authorized customer interactions; (b) aggregated or de-identified patterns may inform platform quality, safety, and model improvement; (c) we do not use your content to train public-facing third-party AI models for unrestricted redistribution of your trade secrets without appropriate contractual and technical safeguards. Specific data-handling terms may also be governed by your agreement with Nuforiq or a customer.
We process personal information where necessary to perform our contract with you, based on legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, or based on consent where required.
Data security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information and supplier content against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. These measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, logging, vulnerability management, and employee training. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you should also protect your credentials and devices.
Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Portal, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may differ by data category. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our retention schedules, subject to legal holds or backup cycles.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests. If we process data on behalf of a customer, we may refer you to that customer where appropriate.
International transfers
Nuforiq may process data in countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers of personal data across borders.
